[TUTORIAL] Instagram Profile

step one: open gimp and make sure you use this xcf template i provided here.

step two: i'm going to go ahead and work on the pictures first. it says for each picture, the size has to be 105x105 so go ahead and gather eight different pictures, scale them down and cut them to the correct size.

to make things even easier, after i cut each one, i colored each one separately and then sharpened it as well. i figured by doing this, it would look better.

step three: after you cut each picture, copy and paste them onto the template. arrange them in the black squares and you should end up with something like so. move and adjust each picture accordingly within the squares.

step four: now i'm going to create a circle cut out for the icon up top. in order to do this, get an image and scale/cut it down to 90x90. once you do that, color and sharpen it before moving it onto the template.

step five: once you move it into the template, click on the icon layer (black circle) with the fuzzy select tool.

now you can see tick marks going around the icon like so. this will help guide you as to what parts of the picture will show up in the icon. adjust the image layer so that it shows whatever portions you want to be included within the tick marks.

step six: then go back up all the way to the top and select the icons image layer and then go to edit>cut and paste as a new layer.

after you do that, the tick marks should disappear like so.

now, if you go back and delete the layer below the new one, you should be left with just the circle icon. in my case, my new layer is #9 so i deleted layer #8 which was the old layer below the new one. the new layer is the icon cut out as a circle.

step seven: after that, all that is left to do is edit the text layers. i went ahead and used mark's instagram as reference and edited the text to match what was on his profile.
